Bitcoin (BTC) surpassed Tesla (TSLA) in the ranking of technology growth assets, but it remained at the bottom among cryptocurrencies.
According to TheStreet on September 3 (local time), in the newly released Roundtable 100, Bitcoin ranked 94th, while Tesla ranked 96th. Tesla currently holds 11,509 BTC on its balance sheet, and Elon Musk also owns Bitcoin.
The Roundtable 100 is a ranking that evaluates the growth potential of 100 technology growth assets. Evaluators assign 0-100 points to each of the five categories: team, security, value, innovation, and market dominance. The average score determines the overall ranking, and the list is updated every Friday after the close of the U.S. stock market. Bitcoin's market capitalization is $1.63 trillion, which is larger than Tesla's $1.49 trillion.
Even though Bitcoin surpassed Tesla, its internal evaluation among cryptocurrencies was not high. All other cryptocurrencies included in the Roundtable 100 ranked higher than Bitcoin. NEAR was the highest among cryptocurrencies, ranking 15th overall. Curve Finance (CRV) ranked 17th, Hyperliquid (HYPE) 19th, and Ondo (ONDO) 24th.
Major cryptocurrencies also ranked ahead of Bitcoin. Solana (SOL), with a market capitalization of $61.6 billion, is the 7th largest in the cryptocurrency market but ranked 56th in the Roundtable 100. Polygon (POL) ranked 65th, Ethereum (ETH) 71st, and Algorand (ALGO) 72nd. Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization at approximately $307 billion, also received a 23-rank higher evaluation than Bitcoin.
The evaluators reflected future growth potential rather than just asset size in determining the rankings. Consequently, Bitcoin, with a market capitalization of $1.63 trillion, secured a higher rank than Tesla but was limited to 94th place, the lowest among cryptocurrencies. This ranking reflects the views of Roundtable analysts at the time of evaluation and is not intended as investment advice.
