Reuters reported on the 3rd (local time) that Nvidia announced that Lenovo and Acer will launch the first PCs powered by its 'RTX Spark' chip in October.
RTX Spark is a next-generation AI chip for PCs that combines the Blackwell graphics processing unit (GPU) and Grace central processing unit (CPU).
Previously, Nvidia unveiled RTX Spark three months ago as part of a "PC reinvention" partnership with Microsoft. RTX Spark was co-developed with Taiwan's fabless (semiconductor design specialist) MediaTek.
Nvidia announced an expanded partnership with MediaTek on the 31st of last month, stating that they would jointly develop additional RTX Spark and DGX Spark PC chips.
These chips, which integrate Nvidia GPUs and MediaTek Systems-on-Chip (SoCs), will be installed in consumer PCs, supercomputers for AI developers, and enterprise workstations, the company explained.
As part of this collaboration, Nvidia acquired $3.5 billion (approximately 4.8 trillion won) worth of MediaTek convertible bonds (CB).
