As funding sources dried up due to the high-interest rate trend and strengthened regulations on home-backed loans, Edaily reported a growing number of so-called 'coin all-in' cases, where proceeds from virtual asset sales are used to purchase homes. According to the 'Status of Housing Acquisition Fund Procurement Plans' submitted by Rep. Kim Jong-yang of the People Power Party to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on the 3rd, from February 10 this year, when 'proceeds from virtual currency (asset) sales' was newly added to the fund procurement items, until the end of July, the number of homes purchased with virtual asset sale proceeds totaled 1,688 cases, and the procured amount was tallied at 148.5 billion won. Of the total procured amount, 133.1 billion won (89.6%) was invested in apartment purchases. By age group, people in their 30s and 40s accounted for 89.8% of the total cases and 88.9% of the total amount (132 billion won). The average procurement amount per case was around 87.1 million won.
