Bitcoin mining pool Ocean (OCEAN) has officially ceased support for the BIP-110 chain, Bitcoin News reported. Ocean stated that due to low mining activity on the BIP-110 chain and the change of the Proof-of-Work (PoW) algorithm to BLAKE2b, it will no longer support the hardfork and will not distribute related mining rewards. The BIP-110 chain effectively ceased operation after a failed UASF attempt on August 8, and mining rewards generated since the chain split have been frozen as they could not secure the 100 confirmations required for use. Ocean advised miners who wish to continue BIP-110 mining to use Convoy (CONVOY), which plans to support the BLAKE2b hardfork. BIP-110 is a proposal to limit non-payment data that can be embedded in Bitcoin transactions, aiming to reduce the use of Inscriptions and Runes and lower node burden.
