Ido Ben-Natan, CEO of on-chain security firm Blockaid, stated that the Coldcard vulnerability incident revealed cryptocurrency's reliance on private keys. According to The Block, he emphasized, "The very structure of relying on private keys can ultimately create a single point of failure." He added, "The Coldcard incident was particularly shocking because the wallet was designed to store private keys offline, isolated from the internet. However, hackers exploited a flaw where sufficient randomness was not ensured during the process of Coldcard devices generating wallet seeds. Simply leaving assets somewhere and forgetting about them or not thinking about them is not a true solution. The security landscape changes very rapidly. Therefore, we must either continuously remain vigilant or entrust security decision-making to professional institutions."
