PeckShield reported that a hacker stole approximately 500,000 USDC from a wallet on the BASE network, but subsequently incurred significant losses due to a MEV bot's sandwich attack during the process of cashing out the funds. The hacker did not set sufficient slippage protection during the swap transaction, and a MEV bot exploited this, intervening in the transaction, resulting in the hacker ultimately only managing to steal 67 WETH ($129,000).
