The Shiba Inu (SHIB) ecosystem has issued a security warning targeting fake official accounts while simultaneously disclosing its development achievements.
According to crypto media outlet U.Today on August 5 (local time), Mazrael, an advisor to the Shiba Eternity project and a long-time Shiba Inu community activist, stated on X (formerly Twitter) that “there are no new official channels or accounts” and “if a new account is created, it will be announced via the shib.io website.”
Mazrael’s warning comes amid an increase in impersonation and scam accounts attempting to leverage Shiba Inu’s recognition. The Shiba Inu ecosystem has not opened any new official communication channels. It is advised that users should verify facts on shib.io before interacting with profiles claiming to be official project accounts.
LEASH v2 development has also entered its final stages. When a user asked about the progress, Mazrael replied, “Preparation and audit are complete. Building the foundation comes first.” LEASH v2 is a fixed-supply token contract designed to replace the existing LEASH. It was engineered to prevent hidden loopholes in the original contract that could have altered the token supply. It has completed an audit by Hexens and is scheduled for a phased launch.
Shiba Inu celebrated its 6th anniversary on August 1st. Anonymous founder Ryoshi launched the project on August 1, 2020. Mazrael emphasized that even in this year's bear market, “developers continue to deliver results.” The development team has expanded 18 development documents covering ERC-4337 based gas fee sponsorship transactions, cryptocurrency payment APIs, hosted on-chain data connectivity features, and the ShibaSwap SDK. These documents form the foundation required for developing consumer apps based on Shibarium.
