Strategy (MSTR), the world's largest Bitcoin (BTC) holding company, will provide $250 annually to its employees' children's Trump Accounts.
According to cryptocurrency media CoinGeape on August 5 (local time), Strategy announced its participation in the Invest America Business Pledge. It will provide $250 annually to eligible children of US employees under 18, regardless of their birth year. For children born after January 1, 2025, an additional one-time payment of $1,000 will be made, matching the initial support from the US government.
Trump Accounts are tax-deferred investment accounts for children under 18. Funds in the account are invested in low-fee US stock index funds. Children born between 2025 and 2028 will receive $1,000 from the US Treasury Department upon enrollment. Companies can also contribute funds to their employees' children's accounts, subject to tax law limits and requirements.
Phong Le, CEO of Strategy, stated, "Trump Accounts and the Invest America initiative can make the financial future of American children more robust." He added, "We will match the government's initial $1,000 grant and make additional annual contributions to eligible employees' children, which can encourage financial education, long-term thinking, and a culture of saving and investing from an early age."
Strategy will launch the program once the US Treasury Department issues final guidelines and the corporate contribution payment system is operational. The company first disclosed the plan to employees at a quarterly internal event and will guide eligible employees through the enrollment process before official implementation.
Strategy has joined the ranks of financial and cryptocurrency companies, including Coinbase (COIN) and Morgan Stanley (MS), that have pledged support for Trump Accounts. Coinbase and Morgan Stanley also proposed providing $1,000, matching the government's support, to eligible employees' children's accounts. Strategy expanded its support to all eligible US employees' children under 18 by adding an annual $250.
