XRP has broadened the entry path for institutional funds by pioneering spot ETFs and listed derivatives.
According to crypto media outlet FXLeaders on August 4 (local time), XRP spot ETFs and Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) listed derivatives have increased accessibility for institutional investors. Cumulative ETF fund inflows and institutional custody systems are supporting liquidity in the secondary market.
Institutions can now invest in XRP without relying on non-custodial wallets or overseas spot exchanges. Investment channels through regulated securities firms, clearinghouses, and qualified custodians have expanded. ETF authorized participants enhance market efficiency by adjusting the difference between spot/futures prices and ETF prices.
Continuous net inflows directly supply liquidity to trading quotes. This can also reduce the bid-ask spread on Nasdaq, Cboe, and NYSE Arca. Analysis suggests that cryptocurrency spot exchanges can also benefit from the same effect.
Ripple has made equity investments in ZILO and Licuido. The strategy is to connect the two companies' transfer agent, fund management, and equity tokenization technologies to the XRP Ledger (XRPL). Issuance and collateral movement functions will also be integrated into the XRP Ledger infrastructure.
Ripple has also secured a Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) license under the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation. Ripple Prime has secured a $200 million credit facility from Neuberger Specialty Finance. It has also agreed with EDX to expand access to digital asset liquidity. Ripple is promoting the launch of RLUSD in Japan with SBI Group and expanding payment integration for Central and South America through Bitso and for Turkish businesses.
