Amid a simultaneous decline in XRP (Ripple) price and XRP Ledger (XRPL) activity, the network's 30-day real-world asset (RWA) transfer volume has evaporated by over 96% in just one month.
According to the cryptocurrency media outlet Finbold on August 3 (local time), XRPL's 30-day RWA transfer volume, compiled by RWA.xyz, plummeted by 96.88% from $581.5 million a month ago to $18.15 million. The decrease exceeded $563 million, and network activity also decreased by 13% during the same period.
While trading activity contracted, the underlying tokenization infrastructure remained. The number of RWA holders increased by 23% to 197 during the same period. The Distributed Asset Value, which represents the value of RWA tokens already deployed on XRPL, was recorded at $378.76 million, a decrease of 4.51%. The media explained that despite the sharp drop in RWA transfer volume, the increase in the number of holders suggests that token issuance continued, but the scale of new tokenized asset issuance by institutions may have decreased.
According to CryptoQuant, XRPL's daily transaction count decreased by 174,284 from 1,280,975 on July 3 to 1,106,691 at the time of writing. During the same period, the XRP price fell by 4.42% from $1.13 to $1.08. The media reported that the contraction in RWA transactions and the decrease in network activity occurred simultaneously with the token price decline, indicating that the XRP price showed a close correlation with XRPL's RWA transfer volume.
