The U.S. Federal Reserve (Fed) froze interest rates, and in its Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) statement, it announced that "three governors dissented against the interest rate freeze." This contrasts with the unanimous decision of the previous meeting, and it is the first time since 2016 that there have been three dissenting votes in the FOMC. The Fed stated in its announcement that "the unemployment rate remains low with little change, and it will continue its policy of ample reserves within the banking system."
