Samson Mow, CEO of Bitcoin technology company Jan3, emphasized that the introduction of Bitcoin's Post-Quantum (PQ) signatures should not be rushed. He stated via X, "Months ago, I pointed out that hastily changing Bitcoin to a Post-Quantum (PQ) signature scheme could be risky. This is because new vulnerabilities could emerge that might be exploited even in existing computing environments. Now, we must also consider the possibility that Artificial Intelligence (AI) could find these vulnerabilities even faster. Rushing to replace the existing signature scheme with PQ signatures could expose us to attacks using conventional computers, rather than preparing for quantum computers. In other words, trying to prevent future threats could result in weakening current security. The adoption of PQ signatures should be pursued only when quantum computers actually become a significant threat."
