Cryptoslate reported that in a lawsuit in a New York State court concerning the ownership of long-dormant Bitcoin (BTC) wallets, including addresses attributed to Satoshi Nakamoto, the plaintiffs excluded 44 wallets from the lawsuit. The lawsuit was filed by the pseudonymous plaintiff Noah Doe and two corporations. According to a withdrawal filed on the 7th (local time), the number of targeted wallets decreased from 39,069 to 39,025. Although the reason for the withdrawal was not specified, on-chain analysts pointed out that all 44 of these addresses transferred BTC after the lawsuit was filed. According to Alex Thorn, Head of Research at Galaxy Digital, these addresses held 21,443 BTC at the time the lawsuit was filed but subsequently moved 46,334 BTC, with approximately 3,097 BTC remaining. Based on recent market prices, the transferred amount is approximately $2.9 billion. This contradicts the plaintiffs' claim that these wallets are 'abandoned assets' due to a lack of on-chain activity. Previously, a pseudonymous defendant named John Doe 33 objected, claiming to be the rightful owner, and the Chamber of Digital Commerce also submitted an amicus brief opposing the plaintiffs' claims.
