U.S. Central Command announced that U.S. forces completed new strikes against Iran on the 8th (local time). This operation aimed to further weaken Iran's ability to attack merchant vessels and civilian mariners in the Strait of Hormuz, striking approximately 90 military targets including air defense systems, coastal reconnaissance assets, missile and drone storage facilities, naval forces, and military logistics infrastructure. The previous day, on the 7th, U.S. forces also conducted offensive strikes against Iran, attacking approximately 80 military targets, including over 60 small fast boats belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. This was a measure to impose a heavy cost on Iran for violating the ceasefire by attacking three merchant ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. U.S. Central Command emphasized that U.S. forces maintain constant vigilance and strong combat readiness, prepared to conduct operations at any time under the direction of the Commander-in-Chief.
