The Block reported that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has included three cryptocurrency-related items in its 2026 regulatory plan. This includes new proposals to amend exchange and broker-dealer rules to regulate digital assets. In this regard, SEC Commissioner Paul Atkins explained, "We are embracing innovation to attract more financial products to the U.S. We are establishing clear regulations for capital raising through cryptocurrencies and providing clear standards on how market participants can custody tokenized securities on-chain and support their trading."
