Elon Musk has once again confirmed his affection for Dogecoin (DOGE), even while drawing a line against promoting cryptocurrencies.
According to crypto media outlet The Crypto Basic on June 15 (local time), a 2024 podcast interview video of Musk is recirculating on X (formerly Twitter). The video was recently shared by Bitcoin advocate Jack Carroll.
Musk stated, "I will not promote cryptocurrencies." He further emphasized, "If you see me pumping crypto prices, it's probably not me." He warned that the authenticity of cryptocurrency promotional videos circulating online must be verified.
Regarding Bitcoin (BTC), Musk said, "I think it has a certain value." He also maintained his previous stance on Dogecoin. He stated, "I have a special affection for Dogecoin because I like dogs and memes."
The recirculated video highlighted the relationship between Dogecoin and Musk once again. Musk had previously responded to predictions that SpaceX could actually lead to an explosive rally for Dogecoin. To a post mentioning a 2021 promise, he replied, "Probably next year." To a post stating, "Dogecoin's explosive rise is inevitable," he replied, "That's correct."
Meanwhile, the video gained renewed attention at a time when Musk became the world's first person to surpass $1 trillion in assets. SpaceX was listed on Nasdaq at $135 per share. The stock price subsequently rose to $165, an increase of approximately 22% from its IPO price. The company's valuation exceeded $2 trillion.
