Japan-listed company MetaPlanet, which is accumulating Bitcoin, announced through its Q1 2026 earnings report that it holds 40,177 BTC as of the end of March 2026 and will strengthen its 'Bitcoin Standard' strategy of holding Bitcoin as a core asset. This accounts for approximately 87% of the BTC held by Japanese listed companies, and it ranks 3rd among global listed companies in terms of BTC holdings. The report stated, "MetaPlanet's consolidated revenue for Q1 increased by 251% year-on-year to 3.08 billion yen (approximately 29.1 billion KRW), and operating profit increased by 282% year-on-year to 2.27 billion yen (approximately 21.4 billion KRW). However, current losses and net losses expanded due to factors such as BTC impairment losses. The amount of BTC held relative to fully diluted shares shows an increasing trend, and the goal is to grow into a BTC-based capital market infrastructure company in the future."
