U.S. President Donald Trump hinted that expanding U.S. companies' operations in China is included in the agenda for the U.S.-China summit.
On the 12th (local time), President Trump, in a post on Truth Social, listed the accompanying business executives and said, "I will demand President Xi Jinping of China to open up China."
He added, "That way, brilliant people can work their magic and bring China to a much higher level," and "We will meet in a few hours, and that will be the first thing I ask for."
Regarding China's market opening, President Trump emphasized, "I have never heard or seen a plan that would be more beneficial to our two incredibly great countries."
President Trump denied reports that Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, was not included in the list of business leaders visiting China, stating, "Jensen Huang is on Air Force One."
He listed accompanying business leaders, including Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX; Tim Cook, CEO of Apple; Kelly Otberg, CEO of Boeing; and Larry Fink, CEO of BlackRock, saying, "It is an honor to travel and be with the great country of China."
President Trump is visiting China for the first time in nine years. He is scheduled to arrive in Beijing, China, on the 13th and meet with President Xi for at least six events, including a summit and a state dinner, during his planned three-day visit.
