The CEO explained that Strategy (MSTR) is not just a Bitcoin-holding company. Phong Le, President and CEO of Strategy, emphasized that the company's enterprise value comes not only from its Bitcoin (Bitcoin, BTC) financial strategy but also from its enterprise software business, compliance framework, and global operational scale.
Bitcoin.com reported on May 10 (local time) that CEO Le stated via X (formerly Twitter) that Strategy's value is not solely tied to its Bitcoin holdings on the balance sheet. Le presented the scale of Strategy's long-established enterprise software company, its discipline as a publicly traded company, long-serving personnel, compliance system, and decades-old business model as key foundations.
Le explained that Strategy's software business supports its Bitcoin operating costs. Strategy's software division recorded its strongest quarterly performance in 10 years in Q1 2026. Revenue increased by 12%, cloud revenue grew by 59%, and controllable margin improved by 27%.
Operational scale was also presented as central to the enterprise valuation logic. Strategy has a customer base of over 3,000 clients worldwide, more than 500,000 active users, and approximately half of Fortune 500 companies. The company's workforce consists of 1,500 employees across more than 25 countries.
Le explained that Strategy is an organization equipped with software engineers, product managers, cloud and security specialists, corporate sales teams, and senior executives in finance, legal, operations, and human resources. The fact that a significant number of employees have worked for the company for over 25 years was also presented as institutional experience that Strategy possesses within the young digital asset industry.
Le argues that the Bitcoin holding strategy rests upon such operational discipline. Strategy is listed on Nasdaq, submits quarterly and annual reports to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and undergoes independent audits by KPMG. It also holds certifications such as SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001, and FedRAMP, which verify cybersecurity, operational control, and government-level cloud requirements.
Strategy believes that the combination of a Bitcoin financial company and an enterprise software company creates synergy for both businesses. Le explained that Bitcoin has differentiated the company's identity and provided momentum to employees, customers, and the global community. He added that customer reactions have shifted from skepticism to curiosity and support.
Investment in artificial intelligence was also mentioned as part of the enterprise valuation logic. Strategy's AI data foundation, Mosaic, connects large language models, hyperscalers, and data warehouses. The company is rebuilding internal processes and driving core task automation using various AI models.
The core of this statement is that Strategy's valuation cannot be explained solely by its Bitcoin holdings. While Bitcoin exposure is clearly a differentiating factor for the company, CEO Le asserts that Strategy's enterprise value is formed when publicly traded operational discipline, software business performance, security and compliance infrastructure, and a global customer base all work together.
