Furthermore, Iran reportedly emphasized the fundamental rights of the Iranian people in its reply, demanding: payment of war reparations by the US; recognition of Iran's sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz; complete lifting of sanctions against Iran; and unfreezing of Iranian funds and assets.
