The Bank of Canada (BoC) has stated that it is possible for Canada-based stablecoin regulations to be introduced in mid-to-late 2027. According to Reuters, Carolyn Rogers, Senior Deputy Governor of the Bank of Canada, said in her testimony to the Canadian Senate, "Regulatory design work is currently well underway." She explained, "The initial plan to introduce regulations in early 2027 was a somewhat aggressive timeline," adding, "The actual implementation could be in mid-to-late 2027."
