President Trump visits the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool
As the truce between the United States and Iran marks its first month, the White House announced that U.S. President Donald Trump will deliver a speech in the White House Rose Garden at noon local time on the 8th (1 AM KST on the 9th).
According to Reuters on the 7th, the White House released a schedule containing plans for President Trump's speech. However, it did not specify what the content of President Trump's speech would be.
The United States and Iran agreed to a 'two-week truce' on the 7th of last month, and as that deadline was approaching, President Trump virtually extended the truce indefinitely on the 21st of last month.
As President Trump's scheduled speech comes a month after the truce agreement, attention is focused on what remarks he will make regarding peace negotiations with Iran.
Furthermore, given that the speech was announced the day after the US and Iran engaged in hostilities in the Strait of Hormuz, there is a possibility of remarks pressuring Iran.
Previously, President Trump pressured Iran to accept a peace proposal via the social networking service (SNS) Truth Social, stating, "If they don't quickly reach an agreement, we will subdue them much more powerfully and cruelly in the future."
