Handong University announced on the 7th that it has introduced an AI accelerator developed by Nvidia, the world's largest artificial intelligence (AI) chip company.
The AI accelerator introduced by Handong University consists of Nvidia DGX B200 GPU servers and RTX PRO 6000 GPU servers.
It simultaneously supports training of super-large AI models and multi-user computing environments.
Handong University stated that the computing scale allows for direct creation and training of super-large AI models like ChatGPT.
The university has separately established a secure AI infrastructure, physically separated from external networks, to create a research environment that can be safely utilized in fields requiring high confidentiality, such as national core technologies, defense, and security-grade data.
Going forward, it will operate an 'AI Accelerator Utilization Package Support' program that connects AI education, demand discovery, industry-academia joint research, and infrastructure utilization.
Kim In-joong, head of Handong University's AI Innovation Center, said, "We will continuously expand support for industry-academia joint research and technology development to create a regional AI innovation ecosystem encompassing Pohang and Gyeongbuk."
