To counter false information and exaggerated criticism surrounding Bitcoin (BTC), a 'fact-based refutation platform' has emerged, bringing the information war within the market into a new phase.
According to the cryptocurrency media outlet Cointelegraph on May 1 (local time), the Nordic-based Bitcoin education platform Bitcoin Beyond 66 has unveiled an open-source artificial intelligence tool called 'The Bitcoin Evidence Base'. The Bitcoin Evidence Base is a system that automatically generates evidence-based responses to criticisms regarding Bitcoin's environmental impact, energy consumption, and role within the financial system.
The tool works by allowing users to input questions in text or link form, then it immediately provides refutation materials based on over 20 academic papers, Cambridge research data, and energy data. It is designed to help users who find it difficult to directly verify complex research materials quickly obtain reliable information.
The emergence of The Bitcoin Evidence Base is rooted in the long-standing debate over the environmental impact of Bitcoin mining. While some international organizations and governments have pointed out that Bitcoin negatively affects climate change, recent studies also suggest a significant increase in the use of renewable energy during the mining process.
Beyond mere refutation, the platform also focuses on 'persuasion methods'. It applies a communication strategy that corrects misinformation based on evidence and empathy, rather than aggressive debate, and is designed to allow users to choose direct, neutral, or mitigated tones to generate responses depending on the situation.
Furthermore, it adopts a structure where users can submit new research materials or data, which are then reviewed and incorporated into the database, enabling continuous information updates. This allows for responses based on the latest evidence even in the rapidly changing virtual asset environment.
The launch of this tool demonstrates that the debate surrounding Bitcoin is moving beyond simple clashes of opinion to a competition centered on data and evidence. Market participants are now in an environment where they are required to make judgments based on verifiable information rather than mere assertions.
