Ripple is launching a service to reduce the financial burden of XRP Ledger-based cross-border payments by leveraging its own stablecoin, RLUSD.
According to cryptocurrency media U.Today on October 22 (local time), Ripple announced a new partnership with Arf, a global liquidity and settlement platform. The two companies plan to introduce RLUSD-based payment liquidity to the XRP Ledger. The goal is to help authorized payment companies easily secure short-term operating funds needed for cross-border transactions.
Through this collaboration, RLUSD will provide liquidity to payment companies waiting for international remittances to be settled. In the global payment industry, the problem of companies having to tie up vast amounts of capital in various markets to ensure smooth transactions has been a persistent challenge. Ripple and Arf plan to solve this issue.
Arf will directly supply RLUSD payment liquidity on the XRP Ledger. Authorized payment operators can finance transactions without tying up large sums of capital while waiting for settlement.
The repayment period for payment liquidity is 1 to 5 days. The structure allows the same funds to be repeatedly invested each time a payment is completed. This plans to efficiently support stablecoin-based cross-border payments between companies worldwide.
