The Hyperliquid Policy Center (HPC) has urged European regulatory authorities to classify perpetual futures contracts as derivatives subject to the existing Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II (MiFID II). According to Coingape, HPC argued that the applicability of regulations should be determined by the characteristics of the product, not by blockchain technology.
