Edaily reported that Min Byung-deok, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, made a surprise proposal to raise funds for the construction of the FC Anyang dedicated soccer stadium through tokenized securities. On the 1st, at the 'Edaily Global STO Summit 2026' discussion session held at the Korea Exchange Conference Hall in Yeouido, Seoul, Rep. Min proposed, "This is a way for Anyang City to raise stadium development funds through tokenized securities instead of taxes, and to give investment opportunities first to nearby residents and Anyang citizens." He added, "When the proposal to raise stadium development funds by tokenizing them was first discussed in 2020, the discussion was at the level of 'why do we need coins?', but now we are discussing how to accelerate it." He continued, "When we propose building a dedicated stadium, there is opposition that there are many other places to spend the budget. However, if citizens who are passionate fans hold tokenized securities at a low price, they will become enthusiastic supporters who will even tolerate dust, noise, and traffic congestion during the construction period." Specifically, citizens participate in investments with small amounts, take a portion of the profits in an agreed-upon manner, and receive parking tickets, usage rights, or a portion of operating profits from the developed facilities as tokens.
