Bitcoin developers have proposed a new standard (BIP-461) to detect the surreptitious leakage of private key information during the wallet signing process, CryptoSlate reported. The core of BIP-461 is to standardize the ECDSA signing method so that using the same private key and the same message always yields the same result from any legitimate signer. If a signature different from the standard result is generated, it becomes easier to check whether a hidden operation for private key leakage was involved in the signing process. Since there is no need to change existing Bitcoin consensus rules, it can be adopted by relevant wallets or signing software without a network upgrade.
