Quant (QNT) surged 15% the previous day and rose another 8% on the 30th, nearing a breakthrough of $300. The settlement of Tokenized Deposits for 25 major US banks and Agentic AI-based financial management technology to be unveiled at Sibos 2026 have emerged as driving forces behind the rise, while Open Interest has also hit an all-time high, rapidly expanding speculative demand.
According to investment media FXStreet on September 30 (local time), Quant traded at around $290 on Wednesday, continuing its 15% surge from the previous day. Quant recently announced a collaboration with The Clearing House to act as a settlement layer for tokenized deposits for 25 major US banks. Furthermore, at SWIFT's Sibos 2026 event, it plans to demonstrate 'Agentic Treasury Control Tower' with Capgemini, showcasing corporate liquidity management technology utilizing tokenized deposits.
This demonstration will reveal how Capgemini's AI agent analyzes account balances, currencies, and market conditions to automatically handle small liquidity shortages, while larger transactions are executed after human approval. FXStreet explained that the expanded use of tokenized deposits is supporting QNT's recent upward momentum. Demand also surged in the derivatives market. According to CoinGlass, QNT futures Open Interest reached an all-time high of $167.93 million on Wednesday, surpassing Monday's record of $158.80 million.
Technically, a bullish structure is evident. QNT is trading significantly above its 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day Exponential Moving Averages (EMA) of $99.18, $83.12, and $77.11, respectively, at around $290. The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) is also rising above the 0 line, and its histogram is expanding, indicating buying dominance. However, the Relative Strength Index (RSI) has climbed to 81, entering an overbought zone, signaling that the short-term uptrend may be excessively extended.
On the weekly chart, QNT has risen to a 4-year high not seen since late 2021. Specifically, it surged 350% last week, recovering the 78.6% Fibonacci Retracement level of $258.80, based on its all-time high of $430 and all-time low of $40.10. FXStreet suggested that if this level is maintained, the next key resistance would be the all-time high of $430, representing approximately 50% additional upside potential from the current price.
Conversely, the risk of correction due to the sharp rise has also increased. Even if QNT successfully breaks $300, the overbought condition with an RSI of 81 could heighten short-term volatility. Particularly, an analysis suggests that if QNT decisively breaks below $258.80, the bullish structure could falter, and the risk of a decline to the 50% Fibonacci retracement level of $131.31 could expand. Ultimately, while tokenized deposits, Agentic AI technology to be unveiled at Sibos 2026, and record-high Open Interest support the uptrend, breaking $300 and maintaining support at $258.80 have emerged as key variables determining the future direction.
