3,568 BTC moved from a Strategy-linked wallet led by Michael Saylor. While market fears of a sell-off grew, it was confirmed to be a simple asset reallocation within a custodial institution.
According to crypto media outlet Bitcoin.com on September 29 (local time), on-chain tracking platforms detected 3,568 BTC moving out of a wallet labeled "Strategy." Approximately $297 million worth of assets moved 12 times over 9 hours. This coincided with a temporary drop in Bitcoin (BTC) price below $83,000 and approximately $500 million in liquidations across the market. Consequently, some parts of the market raised suspicions of a large-scale sell-off.
Emmett Gallic, an analyst at on-chain data analysis platform Arkham, dismissed the movement as not a sale or asset outflow via social media X (formerly Twitter). Gallic explained, "It was a normal fund movement within Fidelity Custody." He added, "Fidelity manages customers' Bitcoin deposits as fungible assets by pooling them into a single pool and reallocates funds between its own addresses as needed." The analysis suggests that during the custodian's address consolidation process, the coins appeared to have moved out of the Strategy wallet without an on-chain change of ownership.
Strategy's Bitcoin holdings and accumulation strategy appear unchanged. Strategy holds a total of 847,666 BTC at an average cost of $75,437. It currently maintains an estimated profit margin of approximately 10% relative to the current price. Chairman Saylor also recently proposed the introduction of regulations allowing banks to lend against Bitcoin as collateral. He continues to firmly maintain a long-term holding stance, hinting at regular purchases.
