BeInCrypto reported that the news of Solana (SOL)'s next-generation consensus protocol Alpenglow being applied to the mainnet on September 28 is false. Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko and developer Anza stated that since Alpenglow has recently entered public testing, there are no plans to rush its application to the mainnet. According to the media, the September 28 date appears to have originated from the feature activation schedule of Solana validator client Agave v4.3, and Alpenglow is not specified in that schedule. Alpenglow aims to reduce the transaction finalization time from the current approximately 12.8 seconds to around 150 milliseconds, and is currently in the testnet phase with no specific mainnet application date set.
