When People Power Party lawmaker Park Soo-young asked at the plenary meeting of the National Assembly's Finance and Economy Planning Committee on the 28th, 'If the taxation of digital assets (virtual assets) is not ready, can you take responsibility?', Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Lee Hyung-il replied to lawmaker Park Soo-young's question at the National Assembly on the 28th, saying, "I will do so." He further explained, "If we investigate, about 85% of all holders own less than 5 million won," adding, "Because a basic deduction of 2.5 million won applies to holders with less than 5 million won, the tax burden will be almost non-existent or minimal." He further stated, "Even for young people in their 20s and 30s, about 90% own less than 5 million won, so we don't expect a significant tax burden, but if issues arise during the enforcement process, we will also look for supplementary measures to ensure taxpayer acceptance."
