On the 25th (local time), Gracie Chen, CEO of Bitget, a Chinese cryptocurrency exchange that suffered a hacking incident worth hundreds of millions of dollars, stated via her X account that "on-chain tracking confirmed that assets worth $387.5 million were transferred to the attacker's address," adding that the scale of damage from this hacking incident is larger than the previously reported $351.6 million. She explained, "The upward adjustment of the damage scale reflects the additional inclusion of assets such as Zcash (ZEC) and Tron (TRX), and it does not mean an additional hacking incident has occurred. The hacking incident is currently under control, and investigations are underway with companies like Mandiant and SlowMist. Furthermore, we have initiated a 'fund recovery bounty program' which involves voluntarily freezing 5% of the cryptocurrencies stolen by the attacker and paying 5% of the recovered amount as a reward to the hacker. Already secured frozen assets are also subject to this bounty payment. The plan for resuming user asset withdrawals is expected to be announced by 13:00 KST on September 26."
