Former US President Donald Trump reportedly saw a 71.30% appreciation in two months from an indirect investment built through Strategy stock, instead of directly purchasing Bitcoin (BTC). Although the exact investment amount has not been disclosed, Finbold estimated that the unrealized gains from two purchases could be up to $12,380 and $69,619, respectively.
According to the cryptocurrency media outlet Finbold on September 23 (local time), Trump's financial disclosure, released on the 22nd, confirmed that he purchased up to $115,000 worth of Strategy stock at the end of July. Strategy is Michael Saylor's company, well-known for its Bitcoin investments, and this investment was evaluated as Trump's major indirect Bitcoin investment.
On July 24, when Trump made his first small purchase, Strategy's stock price was $91.67, and three days later, when the second, larger investment was made, it was $98.65. The stock then closed at $167.33 in regular trading on September 22. Based on this, Finbold suggested the possibility of unrealized gains of $12,380 from the first purchase and up to $69,619 from the second purchase. However, due to disclosure regulations only revealing ranges rather than exact investment amounts, the actual profit scale cannot be confirmed.
While the value of the Strategy investment increased by 71.30% in two months, Bitcoin also showed a strong upward trend. Bitcoin rose from $62,938 in early August to $78,653 in early September and was trading at $85,837 at the time of writing. The increase rate was 36.38% in less than two months.
Finbold reported that although there were initial concerns that the digital asset rally might be dampened if the US cryptocurrency market structure bill, the Clarity Act, did not pass Congress, the uptrend in virtual assets actually accelerated in late September. It further assessed that a relatively clear 'buy' signal appeared on the 22nd as Bitcoin's Market Value to Realized Value (MVRV) broke above its 365-day moving average (MA).
Based on this MVRV signal, the outlet suggested the possibility of Bitcoin rising towards $90,000 and even attempting $100,000. Accordingly, assuming that Trump had not sold his Strategy stock by the time of writing, it projected that investment profits could further expand by the end of the year if the Bitcoin bull run continues.
