CNBC reported that Kalshi, the largest regulated prediction market platform in the U.S., has officially requested the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to allow margin trading (collateral) and trading through loans on its platform. If approved, Kalshi users will be able to take leveraged positions using borrowed funds, and the liquidity and trading volume within the prediction market are expected to significantly expand. Kalshi previously won a legal battle with the CFTC over U.S. presidential election prediction derivatives, rapidly expanding its reach in the prediction market.
