The non-profit organization Ethereum Institutional announced its support for EIP-8198, which aims to shorten Ethereum (ETH) block creation time, citing increased on-chain institutional activity. The proposal primarily seeks to reduce the current block creation time of approximately 12 seconds to 10 seconds. EtherLabs stated that 20 DeFi founders also support the proposal and that related work is underway to include it in the future Hegotá upgrade.
