Bitcoin Core developer Niklas Gögge warned via X that AI-powered vulnerability detection is changing Bitcoin's security landscape. He explained that as the cost of finding vulnerabilities has significantly decreased with the advancement of large language models, the possibility of attackers discovering critical vulnerabilities with computing costs as low as a few hundred dollars has increased. Regarding Bitcoin Core, Project Loop and individual developers have generated over 1,000 vulnerability-related reports to date. However, no high-risk or severe vulnerabilities have been found so far.
