CoinDesk reported that Ethereum's next-generation upgrade, 'Glamsterdam,' successfully completed its Devnet-11 rehearsal ahead of its application to the Sepolia testnet on October 6. According to Nethermind client test results, all 2,302 tests were completed, processing 570.7 billion gas in 3 minutes and 15 seconds. This translates to an average processing speed of approximately 2.9 billion gas per second. Furthermore, Glamsterdam raised the block gas limit from 60 million to 200 million within about an hour of the testnet's activation. The introduction of a 200 million gas limit will allow Ethereum to absorb more activity before users bid high fees against each other to secure block space when trading surges or the network experiences congestion, thereby mitigating sudden fee spikes.
