Digital Asset AI Summit…Co-hosted by Surf, Bithumb, BitGo, and Forpilus
"Artificial intelligence (AI) will not replace predictions (in the virtual asset market), but it will change the way investors reach decisions."
Kim Yoon-ki, head of Bithumb Trading Research Institute, said this at the '2026 Digital Asset AI Summit' held at a hotel in Songpa-gu, Seoul on the 17th, stating, "This is the answer we obtained while developing and operating services on how AI will change the digital asset market."
Director Kim said, "The virtual asset market is not static or formalized. It's not a lack of information, but too much information to keep up with. AI can transform scattered data into context and deliver missed signals in a timely manner."
He stated that the next direction for AI's development is 'personalization', saying, "I believe the transition from an era where everyone sees the same screen and market to an era where the market is interpreted differently according to each person's portfolio and investment propensity has already begun."
The event was co-hosted by Surf AI, a digital asset-specialized AI platform, with Bithumb, BitGo, and Forpilus. About 50 corporate officials from virtual assets, IT, and fintech, including representatives from the co-hosting companies, attended.
Surf is an AI platform that supports companies' AI-based digital transformation, designed to match the data structure and work environment of the virtual asset market. It is also the company that co-developed 'Bithumb AI' with Bithumb.
Ryan Lee, CEO of Surf, said in his opening remarks, "The future we envision in the long term is a world where crypto (virtual assets) becomes the basic infrastructure supporting all asset transactions."
He added, "The change has already begun. As more companies use crypto, the amount moving on-chain has increased, data has also grown, and the demand for complex financial analysis has also increased."
He further explained, "Many users who learn through Surf, conduct in-depth research, and actively utilize its tools are in Korea. We want to understand their needs and create products and services that meet them."
Park Seo-hyun, Surf's Korea General Manager, also stated, "Surf's mission goes beyond document creation and summary automation to enable all companies to create intelligence based on their own data and context."
Park Sung-hyun, Director of BitGo Korea, said in a presentation titled 'Institutions' Leap into the Digital Asset Market', "Just as banks do not directly build payment networks and securities processing infrastructure, digital assets are also moving towards using specialized infrastructure."
He emphasized that before technology, one must prepare for ▲ understanding regulations and licenses ▲ risk management systems ▲ compliance types, saying, "Being prepared in advance is not about buying Bitcoin, but about establishing internal decision-making and control structures."
