Cryptocurrency asset management firm Galaxy analyzed that venture capital (VC) investment in cryptocurrency and blockchain companies in the second quarter of 2026 recorded approximately $5.683 billion (about 7.8283 trillion KRW), a 31% increase compared to the previous quarter. Through its 'Q2 Cryptocurrency & Blockchain Venture Capital' report, Galaxy explained, "VC investment in cryptocurrency and blockchain companies in Q2 totaled 384 cases, with the number of investments increasing by 10% compared to the previous quarter. Approximately 78% of the total investment was concentrated in late-stage companies, and US-headquartered companies accounted for 73.5% of the total investment. By sector, companies related to exchanges, trading, investment, and lending secured the largest amount of investment, attracting approximately $3.523 billion. This was followed by DeFi, which attracted approximately $478 million, with privacy/security, tokenization, AI, and infrastructure also identified as major investment areas."
