The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) announced that it plans to develop a joint roadmap for the tokenization of financial assets with the Bank of England by the end of this year, after gathering industry feedback. According to Cointelegraph, the regulator received 123 submissions from industry stakeholders regarding wholesale tokenization. Most respondents evaluated that the post-trade process, especially the transfer of collateral assets between parties, will be the biggest opportunity for tokenization. The FCA and the Bank of England plan to prepare a roadmap based on this, which will present specific target timelines for promoting the tokenization of institutional and wholesale financial markets in the UK.
