Cross-chain liquidity protocol Symbiosis announced that it has suspended BTC routing after a hacking attack exploited a vulnerability in its Bitcoin bridge. The attack occurred around 4:28 AM (UTC) on September 11, and approximately 15 BTC has currently been recovered and is being held in a multi-signature wallet managed by the team. Other routes, including EVM chains, Tron, TON, and Octopools, were not affected. Symbiosis has offered the attacker 20% of the stolen funds as a white-hat bounty, and is investigating the final scale of the damage while preparing a compensation plan for affected liquidity providers (LPs).
