U.S. Senate Republicans have unveiled an amendment to the Clarity Act reflecting changes negotiated during the August recess, according to Eleanor Terrett, host of Crypto in America. According to current confirmed information, there appear to be no changes to the ethics-related provisions, and the Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act (BRCA) and stablecoin yield-related provisions integrated into the Clarity bill also remain unchanged. The main contents of this amendment are as follows.
1) Mandating registration of non-decentralized DeFi protocols with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC)
2) Limiting DeFi-related regulations to spot or cash-based digital commodity transactions
3) Clarifying the authority of credit unions to handle cryptocurrencies
