AEON, an AI economic payment protocol, announced the launch of its 'Agentic Checkout' feature, which allows AI agents to autonomously perform tasks from product search to purchase and payment. Through Agentic Checkout, users can input desired products and conditions in natural language, and the AI agent can search for products within the Shopify ecosystem, build a shopping cart, and complete the payment. The AEON AI Card is used for payment. This card allows users to pre-set spending limits and payment authorization scopes, enabling AI agents to execute payments without directly accessing the user's main wallet or primary payment card. Agentic Checkout currently supports over 3 million active Shopify stores and more than 1 billion products, with future plans to integrate with cloud open-source e-commerce agents and expand support to shopping and payment platforms such as Amazon and Travala.
