As Dunamu strengthens its internal compliance system and achieves results in cooperation with public institutions to combat digital asset crimes, it has set out to enhance the exchange's reliability.
Dunamu, which operates the digital asset exchange Upbit, announced on the 4th that it held a 'Declaration Ceremony for Strengthening the Fair Trade Compliance Program (CP)' at Nest Hotel in Incheon on the 3rd. CEO Oh Kyung-seok and key executives attended, establishing a compliance management system on-site and solidifying their commitment to strengthen the ethical awareness and responsibility of organizational leaders.
This event is a follow-up to the 'Compliance Management Practice Pledge Ceremony' held in June. Attendees pledged to prohibit unreasonable demands and the exercise of influence, and to strictly comply with the Fair Trade Act during interactions with business associations and competitors. Additionally, they resolved to uphold four practical guidelines, including user protection through objective and accurate information provision, and preventing instructions or facilitation of fair trade law violations within the company.
Externally, Dunamu was recognized for its capabilities in responding to illegal foreign exchange transactions and new types of trade crimes utilizing digital assets. So Min-seop, Head of Dunamu's Financial Data Intelligence (FDI) Team, and Kim Seong-yong, an FDI Team researcher, received the Commissioner of Korea Customs Service Commendation at the 56th Anniversary of its Founding, for their contributions to technical support and investigative cooperation. This officially recognized the achievements of private virtual asset business employees in contributing to the development of customs administration and the establishment of national economic order.
Based on their expertise and practical experience in digital assets, the two have provided technical support and expert advice to the Korea Customs Service in tracking illegal foreign exchange transactions and the movement of criminal proceeds. They analyzed major investigation cases and imparted practical crime analysis techniques to customs investigators and staff, and also participated in reorganizing the public-private cooperation system to respond to increasingly sophisticated digital asset-linked trade crimes.
Since introducing the Fair Trade Compliance Program in 2025, Dunamu has been continuously advancing its related policies and management systems. Going forward, it plans to raise employees' compliance awareness through regular training and internal newsletter publications, and expand technical and investigative cooperation with the Korea Customs Service. CEO Oh Kyung-seok emphasized, “Establishing a transparent trading order and creating a sound digital asset market begins with the proactive efforts of leaders,” urging them to build a company trusted by the market based on principles.
