CryptoBriefing reported that Coinbase has submitted comment letters to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to offer stock-based perpetual futures trading to US investors. Coinbase proposed classifying stock perpetual futures as securities futures under existing law. These products track stock prices without holding actual shares and can be traded 24 hours a day without expiration. Coinbase currently offers stock-based perpetual futures for Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet, and more to users outside the US with up to 20x leverage.
