BNB Chain announced that it is exploring a structure that allows real-world assets to be used as collateral while simultaneously generating profit. According to Cryptobriefing, Thomas Chen, Head of Commercial at BNB Chain, unveiled this plan at an event held in Brooklyn, USA. He stated, "Instead of simply locking asset tokens in smart contracts, they should be utilized as assets that generate actual income. BNB Chain currently holds approximately $5.67 billion worth of real-world asset tokens. This includes major token products such as Circle's money market fund token and USYC. These assets serve as loan collateral while also providing additional returns to holders. BNB Chain explained that it will improve the capital inefficiency issues in DeFi through this collateralized yield model."
