Decrypt reported that the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) uncovered an operation in the Kyiv region that ran a fake cryptocurrency investment platform and stole cryptocurrency wallets from users in over 20 countries. So far, 62 victims have been identified, with monthly damages reaching up to $1 million. The operation manipulated transaction histories to make balances appear to continuously increase when users deposited funds into the fraudulent platform. Upon withdrawal requests, users were prompted to connect their main wallets, and the crime was committed through a hacking program.
