The Block reported that World (formerly Worldcoin) has open-sourced 'ProveKit,' its zero-knowledge (ZK) identity verification development toolkit used in its World ID, to external developers. This allows external developers to implement applications that can verify age, nationality, and ID ownership without exposing users' personal information. The current v1 is optimized for off-chain verification (servers, mobile devices, etc.), but the upcoming v2 plans to explore Groth16 zk-SNARK schema support to reduce proof size and generation time, and enable efficient on-chain verification on World Chain, Ethereum, Base, Solana, and other platforms.
