Coinpost reported that Japan's Financial Services Agency (FSA) issued a warning to Hong Kong-based Izakaya Limited for allegedly operating a cryptocurrency exchange business without registration. According to the FSA, the company operated a cryptocurrency lending and swap service called IZAKA-YA and conducted cryptocurrency exchange business targeting Japanese residents via the internet. Izakaya previously announced on August 24 that it had temporarily suspended remittances and withdrawals for some accounts and made Know Your Customer (KYC) mandatory for all users, citing the confirmation of transactions suspected of illegal fund inflows or money laundering.
